Blanca Gómez Guerrero, MSc. Biochem.
M.Sc. Blanca Gómez Guerrero is Grade 4 Researcher at LATITUD since 2017.

Blanca got her degree in Biochemistry from the University of the Republic (UdelaR) in 2006, and her Master’s Degree in Food Sciences from Manitoba University, Winnipeg, Canada, in 2009.
She was published 3 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, and authored more than 12 papers included in the proceedings of international conferences. She participated in over 15 international congresses. Blanca is a member of the American Society of Brewing Chemists, and the American Association of Cereal Chemists; she is a scientific publications reviewer of INNOTEC, LATU.
She has focused on Cereals, and has a vast experience in the field of barley, malt and beer. At present she is specifically working in how to make the most of by-products.

Previous Experience
1997- 2016: Uruguayan Technology Laboratory, in the Cereals Department
2013-2016: Senior Investigator at the Research, development and Innovation Department of LATU, at the Food Projects Department, especially in the field of Cereals.
2009 – 2013: Senior Consultant at the Cereals, Oilseeds and By Products Department
2007 – 2009: Canadian Grain Commission, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Applied research on barley and beer must as postgraduate thesis.
2004-2006: Analyst III at the Cereals, Oilseeds and By Products Department
2002-2004: Coordinating analyst, Responsible for the Quality Management System of the Micro-Malt Sector
1997-2002: Analyst of the Micro-Malt Sector
